“Ocean Atlantic Rentals is a wonderful place to work. I was able to work there for two back-to-back seasons. The managers and hiring staff bring high energy to the workplace that is contagious. Even during early mornings, everyone is smiling and ready to start the day off with positive energy. Additionally, as a college student preparing to enter the workforce during my time at Ocean Atlantic Rentals, I expanded many skill sets. As an in-store associate, I was able to hone in on numerous techniques to set me up for success in future careers. Some of these techniques include; Conflict Management, Reliability, Punctuality, Problem-solving, and professional speaking abilities.  All in all, this is a GREAT seasonal job experience that is fun, keeps you in shape, and provides skill sets to set you up for success. One of the best seasonal jobs I have ever had.”

“Working for Ocean Atlantic Rentals was one of the most beneficial jobs I have ever worked. OAR teaches how to successfully work as a team to accomplish a larger goal. The camaraderie I experienced over the summers working on the Outer Banks have stemmed life-long relationships. This working environment promotes excellent networking opportunities both with other employees and customers. Though this job is not for the weak hearted or lazy. Everyone works as a team to get the job done. All the supervisors I had the opportunity to work with lead by example and inspired a positive atmosphere. “

“Working for Ocean Atlantic Rental’s for 5 summers during my college years was one of the best experiences of my life. The employee housing made it an easy move. Bossman Dave at the KDH store was a role-model in the work field and pointed us in the right direction for water sport activities on the OBX. The best part of working at OAR was the opportunity to try out the water sports equipment they rent out; kayaks, surfboards, bikes, and etc. Also, it was nice having time to surf before work every day during dawn patrol. It has been a few summers since I have worked there, and the friends I made at OAR have become some of my best friends to date. It is a family working with OAR; from past and current employees. I now have a Masters in Physical Education and Coaching, a 4th year PE teacher in Charleston, SC, and Coach High school Soccer down here. Working at OAR truly changed my life for the better from friends, surfing, work stories, and the love for the beach; working here is something you would never regret.”

“I had an amazing summer thanks to this job and all of the people associated with it. I am already looking forward to next summer!”
Bridget M.

“Working at Ocean Atlantic Rentals was the best two summers of my life. The brotherhood of the employees, our great relationship with management, and the fun work atmosphere all made the experience near perfect, it kept me anxiously anticipating the next summer all year. Although we worked hard in the hot OBX sun, you rarely heard a complaint. We were in it together, as a team, and that fellowship made even the toughest days easier to handle. The feelings of fraternity among the workers forged lasting relationships. Not only have I kept in touch with all of my coworkers from those summers, the experience motivated me to move back to the Outer Banks permanently. I am proud to have been an alumnus of the company, and I would recommend the OAR work experience to anyone, but not everyone is up to the standard. The OAR employee must be hard-working, courteous, intelligent, ethical and motivated. If you are up to the OAR challenge, sign up today. The experience will create memories to last your life and give you skills to succeed in any career.”
