Don’t miss one of the Outer Banks’ best traditions, the Yuengling Nags Head Woods 5K. The event is in its 32nd year and will take place on May 9th. In addition to the 5K, the event also features a 1-mile fun run that runners of all abilities can enjoy! All race proceeds benefit local charities, youth programs, and military relief. With that said, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t come out and take part in this awesome event! Those who enjoy the fun-filled race will get to put their running skills to the test as they make their way through Nags Head Woods. As if running with friends and family through Nags Head’s historic, beautiful maritime forest wasn’t enough, entrants will enjoy awards, medals, and even a post-race beach party and buffet which will take place at the Ramada Plaza Nags Head Beach hotel. Awards will be given out for Fastest Mom on the Beach (since the event takes place on Mother’s Day weekend), Fastest Military Service, and Fastest Elementary School.
Contestants will be made up of all age groups and athletic abilities as the Nags Head Woods 5K welcomes all runners. Whether this race will be your first 5K or you are a seasoned competitive runner, this event has something to offer all who enter. From excellent competition to strong camaraderie between friends, this race is everything a 5K should be!
